Mobile App - Resource Timesheet Tracking (B2B)
An App to capture high-integrity data in real-time from the field
The Challenge Field Service Technicians faced significant administrative friction, as the existing desktop-only logging system was inaccessible during their mobile workdays. This led to "delayed logging," resulting in inaccurate data, a high volume of payroll errors, and a total lack of visibility into Paid Time Off (PTO) accrual. The business needed a way to capture high-integrity data in real-time from the field. The Strategic Solution I led the mobile-first redesign of the Resource Timesheet Tracking system, creating a lightweight, high-utility app designed specifically for the "technician on the move." By integrating directly with the enterprise backend, the app replaced manual data entry with automated context-capture, allowing agents to log their location, hours, and service details in under 60 seconds without needing a workstation.

Design Highlights Context-Aware Scheduling: Implemented customized location mapping that syncs with agent schedules to auto-suggest job sites, reducing manual input errors. Dynamic Temporal Logic: Developed a dynamic date and time engine that accounts for time zones and shift overlaps, ensuring data integrity for field-to-office synchronization. PTO Transparency: Introduced a real-time Time-off Indicator, giving technicians immediate visibility into their leave balance and allowing for the first digital PTO application flow. Enterprise Branding: Seamlessly integrated the BD corporate brand identity into a mobile-optimized UI, ensuring a consistent professional experience across all company touchpoints.

The deployment resulted in a 25% reduction in resource management errors and successfully digitized the PTO process for the first time in the department's history. Due to its high adoption rate and intuitive UX, the app was scaled globally across multiple service teams, becoming the corporate standard for field time-tracking.
